About this event
2024 introduced the new international GT3 race class as part of the international World Endurance Championship (WEC) race series for production-oriented GT cars. This introduced the new Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R race cars with the high performance cross-plane crank Z06 engine, raced internationally by the "TF Sport" Corvette team. Also racing in the same series are prototype cars in the new "Hypercar" class.
The 6-hour Lone Star LeMans at the Ciruit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX is the 6th race in the international WEC series that includes the 24 hours of Le Mans. It is the only WEC that will be held in North America in 2024 and the first time the new Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R will race at COTA.
In addition to the WEC race, there will be supporting races by the new Mustang Challenge series featuring the "Dark Horse" Mustangs, and also the Lamborghini Super Trofeo race series. Sunday Race Times are:
8:40 AM - Mustang Challenge Race #2
9:50 AM - Lamborghini Super Trofeo Race #2
1:00 PM - WEC 6-hour Endurance Race
This is NOT a TCA-sponsored event; however, for those interested TCA members who wish to caravan to the WEC/Lone Star LeMans race at COTA on Sunday, Sept. 1st, we will meet at the south parking lot of Buc-ee's at 2760 N.IH-35 in New Braunfels, with a driver's meeting at 7:15 AM and depart for COTA at 7:30 AM.
PLEASE NOTE: Participants will need to purchase event and parking tickets from COTA at:
